I bought tickets to go and see The Cure last July. I am not much of a concert fanatic. I’m never the one to go and see shows by random bands just because I like shows, cause I don’t. The concerts I have gone to have been artists or bands that I am massively into at the time. But, I have for some time had a huge goal of seeing The Cure live.
Well, it turns out that I have two tickets and since the concert was rescheduled from last September to this May, I have nobody to go with and no place to stash my son for the weekend it will take place. There’s only one logical solution, take The Max with.
This could seem like a buzz kill. What kind of fun could be had with a child at a rock concert? I don’t know the answer to that, but I am willing to find out. Max knows plenty of their songs just as well as I do. And like a friend of mine said, when he is in college he will impress his friends by saying, “Yeah, when I was six, my mom took me to see The Cure” And his friends will reply with, “Dude, your mom must be so cool.”
But in reality, this is how I expect the night to play out:
Drive to arena and be forced to wake Max up, being as it is going to start at about his bedtime.
Drag the boy in the arena and buy him massive amounts of junk food before we find our seats.
Force him to put in earplugs so that he does not damage his ears.
Listen to about 3 songs before he gets bored and asks to leave.
Listen to about 3 more songs while he is begging to leave.
Leave, and buy some t-shirts on our way out the door.
I am going to assume this is the way things will go, maybe worse. But I will be able to say that at one point in my life, I was in the same building as Robert Smith.

MS Paint Fun.
Here’s a new song coming out on the 13th of May:
Dear Robert,
I love what you do to me as well. But seriously, please diet, you are not that much older than Brad Pitt and you used to be better looking than him.

Sincerely, Kristiane
