One Hundered Dollars

I don’t subscribe to a single magazine, though I should. I buy maybe 2-3 a week. One of those I regularly but is Real Simple. It is somewhat Martha Stewart-y (I read hers religiously as well) and has simple buy-the-best-and-least-expensive tips.
One of the columns is “What you would do with a hundred dollars?” Well, if I had one hundred dollars to spend tomorrow on unnecessary things I would buy this:

20- baby pink vintage Vision Street Wear high tops from the thrift store that I unwisely passed up
4- green tea smoothie from Jamba Juice.
8- 200ml. bottle of vodka, cranberry juice, ice, and I’d steal a straw for the concoction when I was at Jamba Juice.
10- new welcome mat for my from door.
5- movie rental
8- a pint of paint to color my window frame
20- NES controller with usb adapter
25- subscription to Martha Stewart

What would you buy with 100?
Rules: No bills or saving, kinda like Brewster’s Millions, but not with millions, with a hundred bucks.

I would invest half of it in low risk mutual funds and then take the other half over to my friend Asadulah who works in securities…

You know people work hard to make those straws.

I was wondering what ever went down with that NES thing. I found a place for those one controllers I found with even cheaper shipping.

    Uh let’s see.

I’d buy a device that would let me capture things from the TV and put them on the computer, to give me more options for my website. I have no idea how much such a thing would cost but if I had anything left over, I’d buy a bigger memory card for my camera and one of those controllers I mentioned because I’m in need of one. Or, the beefed up wireless version with analog sticks if I had enough.

$10–ticket to see DarkKnight @ Imax
    $8–Car Wash
$15–Saturday breakfast @ Circa, my fave little place in West Seattle
$47–Harcover copies of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga (cause I know one day, some 16 year old will buy them from me for $1000)
    $20–Joe Hill’s “Locke & Key” issues 1-5 (first run)

Come to think of it, with the exception of the movie ticket and the breakfast @ Circa, I may actually make all of these purchases…. hmmmmm, thou hast given me ideas!

I’d buy the biggest, fastest camera card I could to take to the motorcycle race at Indy in September.

Then buy a CD or two and/or booze with the rest.

Can you tell I’m looking forward to this road trip?
