I’m sitting here in the hospital, gearing up to give birth. Lucy takes after her daddy (late) so we’re doing the induction thing. Mr Pilver and The Max are here keeping me company. So far it’s boring, but the induction drugs will start soon. I’ve got a needle shoved into my arm and I hate this needle with all of my heart. I’ll update again of I’m not screaming too loudly.
947am:Coffee, water, apple juice, and ultrasound goop. Mmmmmm.
1027am: pitocin just started, ( the drug that gives me contractions) so did the Price is Right. And I’m having a million contractions. Thankfully they don’t hurt yet.
1138am: this is Mr. P. He’s taking a snooze while I gear up for the big pain. Contractions are every 2-3 minutes but they don’t really hurt. Soon my doc is going to break my water. At that point I think the pain will come. Whee!
1:25pm My mom brought me bacon. I think I’m in a bit of pain now. Not bad. Bacon, mmmm.
150pm: See those humps on the bottom? Those are contractions. Max is watching Fairly Odd Parents. Mr P is sleeping. This is labor, I guess.
443pm: at 3pm I was told I was at 8cm. Just 15 minutes ago I was told I’m at 6cm. I AM in pain now. Took me fo-ev-ah to type this paragraph. Also, the above pic is the bar I get to grasp if I decide to stand or squat while pushing. Like a ride at a carnival.
We did it!!! 10:43 pm. I have a pretty little girl!

You are a strong and brave woman to attempt to blog through this. I don’t know how you and Amy even thought of it! I can’t wait to see pictures of little Lucy though. So happy for you, Mr. Pilver and The Max!

Dan, I am such a nerd it would have felt so very wrong to not be online for as long as I was that day. I would have felt sooo disconnected.
That needle was way more than I was prepared for. Hope you have an easy, completely standard and not interesting birth experience. Before long you’ll be clutching your larva and that horrible, horrible thing will be OUT OF YOUR ARM oh my god. I’m going to faint now. Good luck.

I was at work all night and not able to really keep up with online stuff. Just hopped on and started reading everything, so I’m trying to catch up. You’ve been in my thoughts all day though, so I hope everything’s going well!

I love it the first time I checked this you were at the the 947am coffee, apple juice stage…lol you are amazing just for being able to blog this whole thing! Lucy is beautiful! I think we can all come together and do one big “I LOVE LUCY!” How is The Max doing being a big brother? I bet he is going to be an awesome one! And how are Mommy and Daddy? Other than tired?
